John Cale

John Cale

Founding member of the Velvet Underground, then a producer, collaborator, solo artist, and soundtrack composer.  Oh and he keeps on singing better than most...and rocking.

From Seattle show 2012 at Showbox

John Cale re-issued the classic live album Fragments of a Rainy Season, featuring his revered interpretation of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ amongst many solo versions from his enduring catalogue and previously unreleased outtakes, on December 9th 2016 through Double Six / Domino.
Fragments of a Rainy Season is the the first live John Cale album to feature him performing solo and "unplugged" – before that term became a mid-'90s buzzword.

Molly Venter

Goodnight Moonshine is Molly Venter's latest musical project, a collaboration with her husband Eben Pariser. Co-writing often, Eben and Molly explore what it means to be in a healthy authentic relationship; both wholesome and irreverent, they sing of joy and grief in equal measure. Molly's voice bends from a sweet moan to a gritty shout and back into a playful run in the space of a few bars and "it all goes down like silk," writes American Songwriter Magazine; "few singers turn first time listeners into eternal fanatics as effortlessly as Molly Venter."

WINSTON-SALEM (Venter; ASCAP)

There's one last dying smoke stack in this old tobacco town
people sit on doorsteps they are friendly and they're proud.
There are painted advertisements on the red brick factories.
There is dogma in the shadows and ghosts walking the street. Hey…

The sound of devil music is coming out through open doors
two women ask the bartender for heavy handed pours.
And the man who walks so quiet is an acrobat onstage
He is calling up the demons as he blows smoke in your face. Hey…
